Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a
Software Engineering Manager 2. The positions will be located in
Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program SDS Division.

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Mentor and lead software engineers of all levels of skill.
  • Guide career development and provide primary management support for co-located software development team members.
  • Develop Agile/DevOps organizational culture and nurture highly effective cross-functional teams.
  • Support communication channels serving upper management and customers including EV reporting.
  • Provide technical services in your scope of discipline to support the stream-aligned teams as is needed.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of progressive engineering or engineering management experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a technical team lead
  • 1 year of experience in an Agile Software Engineering Methodologies such as Scrum or Scrum Certification (i.e. ScrumAlliance, Scrum.org, PMI)
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, investigation must have been completed within last 5 years and ability to obtain Special Program Access
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified as a Control Account Manager Experience with demonstrated earned value management execution experience
  • Knowledge of Agile Software Engineering Methodologies such as Scrum
  • History building and developing high performing cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Understanding of software engineering principles and processes
  • Demonstrated communication skills and flexibility
  • A current DoD Top Secret clearance with capability for SAP access
  • Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
  • Familiarity with Model- Driven Systems Engineering languages (SysML /UML) and concepts and CORE knowledge a plus
  • Control Account Management Experience with earned value management execution experience in agile programs

Salary Range: $123,900 USD – $185,900 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
