Programmer Analyst (Enterprise EMR Team) job vacancy in Christiana Care Health Systems – Jobs in Delaware

ChristianaCare is recruiting for a Programmer Analyst on the Enterprise EMR Team to analyze, design, develop, test, install, and maintain custom software solutions within the enterprise EMR software environment.

Principal Duties:

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot extensions to Cerner Millennium solutions – Discern Expert rules, CCL reports and smart templates, custom mPages, and Business Objects PowerInsight reports working closely with IT Systems Analysts and internal customers.
• Quickly learn business processes and grasp importance of integrating the workflows into the larger organization.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting for on-going investigations and for system changes and upgrades.
• Consults on and makes major modifications; acts as lead programmer on larger projects and may assume the analyst role on systems of limited scope which are reasonably defined.
• Develops an expertise in more than one programming language, becomes skilled in database and data communications.
• Commits to a challenging schedule.
• Is responsible for reviewing and checking assigned aspects of their projects to ensure the highest quality.
• Becomes proficient in one language with mastery of testing to code, debug, and test programs within the given timeframe.
• Understands and follows procedures and programming standards.
• Maintains good communications with systems analysts and all other staff members to insure a cooperative and productive environment.
• Maintains self-motivation to learn and apply current technology.
• Resolves problems, makes effective modifications, and provides ongoing support to production systems.
• Is proactive in anticipating and resolving situations before they become problems.
• Provides off-hours support as necessary.
• Documents procedures in the programs prior to implementation.
• Follows standard procedures and change control.

Requirements:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or other related fields or relevant years of experience
• Proficient developing in and supporting complex vendor software and have demonstrated skills in CCL or SQL, Business Objects, Visual Basic, HTML, Java, or other programming language. CCL, SQL, HTML, or Java preferred.
• Must possess the ability to clearly define a problem, recommend creative solutions, and implement changes in a team environment.
• Excellent communications skills and teamwork are a must.
• Experience in managing solutions by establishing clear specifications, setting expectations and coordinating development through implementation.
• Commitment to industry standard change control and communications processes.
• Ability to work constructively with customers under adverse situations.
• Demonstrated ability to relate technology to the customer so that they are comfortable with using it and perceive value in the service provided.
• Committed, enthusiastic team player, with a focus on high quality, safe care and customer satisfaction.
• Experience supporting and coding in EMR applications, Cerner Millennium preferred
• Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot system interfaces is a plus.
