Automotive supplier is seeking a Controls Engineer to oversee electrical projects and troubleshoot PLCs. Daily you will report to the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers
• Manage multiple electrical engineering projects
• Partner with operations and process engineering to maximize production and decrease downtime and scrap
• Troubleshoot and improve VFDs, motor starters, relays, etc.
• Complete electrical troubleshooting and upgrades
• Other duties as directed by management

Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, communicating with manufacturing on status of projects and providing technical support to internal staff as needed. This position is eligible for straight time overtime pay for any weekend hours worked after 40 hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS for the Controls Engineer:

1. Minimum of an Associate’s Degree with at least two years in a similar controls engineering position or a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field with relevant co-ops and/or internships. Candidates with high school diplomas and 3-4 years of similar controls engineering experience will be considered.

2. Experience working in manufacturing environments

3. PLC troubleshooting OR strong electrical troubleshooting, including hardware, servos, input/output, etc.

4. Experience troubleshooting sensors

5. Project management of timelines

6. Process improvement experience

7. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:

1. PLC programming

2. Robotic troubleshooting
