About This Role:

K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for an Associate Director of Communications.

An example of job duties includes but are not limited to:

This position will be responsible for the management and oversight of the Athletics Communication Office’s public and media relation activities for the women’s volleyball and men’s baseball programs, which includes:

Daily program management relating to the promotion of the women’s volleyball and men’s baseball sports programs, which includes creating press releases, feature stories, maintaining statistical records, social media, designing publication materials, including but not limited to media guids, game programs and post-season brochures, and finding new ways to promote the assigned sports programs.

Maintain KSA website for assigned sports, which includes bus is not limited to writing and posting stories/articles, updating game stats and posting schedule results.

Press Box and Press Row: Schedule, coordinate and supervise employees needed to successfully oversee this area on game days before, during and afte rsporting events

Travel with assigned teams to away and post season games in order to handle media inquiries, write feature stories, press releases and record game statistics.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree at time of application

Minimum of one year of post-graduate experience in media relations or public relations field

Must possess outstanding editing, writing and oral communication skills

Must possess a very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of NCAA approved statistical procedures for women’s volleyball and men’s baseball.

Proficient skills with Desktop Publishing software, including PhotoShop and InDesign

Previous experience in a NCAA Division I sports marketing, communications or creatiave services/social media setting

Other Requirements:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Must have a valid driver’s license at all times and be able to travel with the teams as requried

Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required

Salary Rate / Pay Rate:

$40,000 to $50,000
